Abstract

Texture development in the material during fabrication from 0.75-in. thick plate to 0.060-in. thick sheet is described. Anisotropic yield strength in the sheet material as a function of preferred orientation is discussed. The production, retention, and decomposition of a metastable phase is discussed, as are its effects on mechanical properties and anisotropy of the alpha zirconium.
