Abstract

There are five steps involved in the determination of standard bulk quantities of liquid petroleum and its products. These steps, each covered by an appropriate ASTM Standard, are:

1. Measurement of Volume by Gaging

2. Determination of Average Temperature

3. Tests for API and Specific Gravity

4. Test for Suspended Water and Sediment

5. Volume Calculations and Corrections
