STP343: Description and Use of the Compilation

    Pages: 4    Published: Jan 1963

For the past several years an increasing amount of gas Chromatographic data has been published for a wide variety of materials. Little work has been reported, however, on development of a system for compiling all the published data in a form convenient for use. Such a system, using key-punched IBM cards for the storage of data, was developed by the Gas Chromatography Subcommittee of the Tennessee Eastman Company Analytical Committee. A brief description of this system has been published, and a detailed description of the method used for the storage and retrieval of data was presented at an ASTM Committee E-19 Meeting. This book contains tabulations of gas Chromatographic data printed from the IBM cards in forms which provide convenient means for rapid retrieval of data. Most of the data were obtained from the literature, although some are unpublished results from laboratories of Eastman Kodak Company and Tennessee Eastman Company. Use of trade names to designate some materials is for the convenience of compilers and users of the system. Inclusion of these materials does not mean that they are recommended or preferred for any application.
