A study was run to determine the appropriateness of the proposed ASTM filter efficiency standard procedure  at the designated limits of latex sphere diameter and face velocity. An analysis of variance of filter performance from six laboratories was performed in the form of a 22 factorial designed experiment with the variable levels: latex sphere diameter (microns) at .62, .90, 2.02 and face velocity (cm/s) at 1, 5, and 25. Observations were also made on the precision of the ASTM F778-82 Gas Flow Resistance Of Filter Media Standard.
