Shown in this paper is the added effect of moisture transmission into, and absorption by, the components of an otherwise dry system, using dry cup water vapor transmission measurements. Variations in the absorbed equilibrium moisture contents, and their vapor pressures, with changing environmental conditions seems to correlate well with observed roof behavior.
