Abstract

This paper provides a guide to instrumentation planning for soil dynamics measurements. The total instrumentation system is outlined, and each of the basic parts including transducers, conditioning and recording instruments, and calibration systems is discussed. The objective is to provide soils engineers with a review of modern instrumentation equipment and procedures to assist in selecting and organizing a total instrumentation plan for multichannel recording.
