Abstract

A rather modest weather observation installation has furnished data useful for a variety of purposes. The use of recording-type weather instruments and of accounting machines to tabulate and analyze the data has minimized manpower requirements. Single station wind and weather summaries for Pittsburg, Calif., are presented to demonstrate the phenomena associated with “low ventilation” atmospheric conditions. “Low ventilation” conditions are related to the buildup of air contaminants in the lower atmosphere.
