Abstract

The piezo-birefringence coefficients of one neodymium doped phosphate laser glass and three neodymium doped fluorophosphate laser glasses have been measured at 0.6328 µm and 1.15 µm. All of the piezo-optic constants have been obtained for two of the glasses. The piezo-optic coefficients, q11, q12 and q44, of CaF2, BaF2, and SrF2 have been measured at 0.6328 µm, 1.15 µm, and 3.39 µm. The coefficients were obtained by interferometric and polarimetric techniques.
