Abstract

The behavior of a transition joint between 2¼Cr-Mo and Type 316 stainless steel has been analysed. The results are used to define the condition for accelerated laboratory testing under cyclic conditions. The relevance of conventional design methods is discussed, and a design approval route is defined.
