It is the purpose of this paper to make a review of the accomplishments in practical uses of synthetic rubbers in tires and inner tubes. It is not intended to present a mass of tire data nor to add new information to the present literature, but rather to give the subject a general treatment which will convey a composite picture of the current opinions of the technologists in the tire industry.
