Abstract

This method describes the washing procedure for preparation of stabilization materials for testing. Its purpose is to insure that all effective fine particles present in the material are included in the binder portion (passing No. 40 (420-micron) sieve) on which the tests are to be conducted. This method is suitable for testing pit gravels, limestone gravels, caliches, glacial materials, stabilized mixtures, and all similar materials in which the binder material is intimately associated with the aggregate.
