Abstract

This method is an estimation of the surface area of clay by adsorption of ethylene glycol. It is not an absolute method. The assumption is that clays will adsorb under the consitions of the procedure, a monomolecular layer of glycol. However, under some conditions this assumption is not reasonably true.
