Abstract

This paper presents the current level of development of computerized analysis and design of precast reinforced concrete box sections. The complete range of overburden depths are considered now. This paper contains a summary of the initial program, that is, for culverts with greater than 2 ft of overburden and recent modifications to the program to update its capabilities. Also presented is a detailed discussion of a recently developed extension of this program to accomplish analysis and design of shallow buried box sections where overburden cover is 2 ft or less.
