Abstract

Liquid-liquid separation within a high speed centrifuge is reviewed. The interrelationship between counter current, liquid-liquid extraction and liquid-liquid separation unit operations are discussed. Alkali metal removal as a function of the physical parameters of the hydrocarbon fuel and theoretical centrifuge capacity, sigma, is analyzed.
