Abstract

A chapter on the pore systems of aggregates has appeared in each of the predecessors to this volume. The first, ASTM STP 169, contained a chapter entitled “Porosity and Absorption” by D. W. Lewis and W. L. Dolch. The following revisions, ASTM STP 169A and ASTM STP 169B, had chapters titled “Porosity” by W. L. Dolch. The continued presence of a chapter devoted solely to the void space in aggregates is indicative of the continued importance of the topic.
