Resistance to Fire and High Temperatures

The fundamentals of concrete performance at high temperatures, including fire resistance, were well established by the time the previous version of this chapter was written by the same author. Accordingly, major revisions have not been necessary, though new issues are addressed, such as those arising from the use of high-strength concrete. Relevant references have been updated, but no attempt has been made to extend the 267-item bibliography of Ref 1, current to 1975, since electronic databases covering the interim are now readily accessible.
