The subject of determining the cement or water content in fresh concrete was not covered in previous editions of ASTM STP 169. It has been derived from ASTM Test Method for Determining Cement Content of Freshly Mixed Concrete (C 1078), ASTM Test Method for Determining the Water Content of Freshly Mixed Concrete (C 1079), and other similar tests studied to determine the amount of these materials in fresh concrete. The ASTM standards were first approved in 1987.
