Abstract

This chapter is the fourth in a line of similar titles that appeared in the predecessors of this volume, ASTM STPs 169, ASTM STP 169A, and ASTM STP 169B. The other titles were all “Needed Research.” This title is “Research Needs,” and the proposal is to treat it as an unfinished sentence, and the second word as a verb rather than as a noun. The aim is to fill in the rest of the sentence and discuss what research in concrete needs in order to prosper in the future. As such, this is essentially subjective, an opinion.
