Abstract

A videotape of dynamic, high-resolution, real-time fatigue crack propagation, made from experiments with a special cyclic loading stage in the scanning electron microscope, was shown to the conference attendees. This paper briefly summarizes the video presentation and illustrates a few of the main points made by it.
