    Abstract

The primary workshop goal was to evaluate the “state of the art” in assessing the hazards of chemical substances to aquatic life. Following five days of discussion, the participants had not only accomplished this goal but had crystalized some basic concepts which represented significant contributions to the future development of hazard assessment procedures.
