Abstract

The constant rate of strain test has been successfully used as a routine test in Sweden for more than seven years. The paper describes in detail the experience gained so far. Methods of interpretation of test results and calculation of settlements are given. A critical comparison with other continuous loading tests and incremental loading tests is also presented.
