Abstract

This report presents the results of a round-robin life-prediction effort conducted by ASTM Task Group E24.04.04 on FCGR Descriptions. The fatigue crack growth rate (FCGR) data supplied to the task group participants for description purposes are provided along with the definition of the life-prediction effort and results. It is shown that the majority of the participants could describe the FCGR data well enough that the resulting constant amplitude life predictions were within ±20 percent of the test lives for more than 80 percent of the tests.
