Abstract

The use of aluminum alloys produced by rapid solidification technology (RST) in land vehicles is discussed. Applications of these alloys to both commercial land vehicles (automobiles) and military land vehicles (armored personnel carriers) are presented. Also presented is a discussion on the ingot metallurgy aluminum alloys currently used in land vehicle applications.
