Abstract

A multi-central processing unit (CPU) computer network has been installed at University College London for fatigue tests and automatic inspection work. This system is described, together with a newly developed alternating-current field measurement inspection system for crack measurement, in use on some novel stress corrosion tests. The complete system makes it possible to conduct tests where the crack shape evolution can be monitored.
