Corncob Granules and Pelleted Carriers—New, Controlled, Safer Methods of Handling Pesticides

Source

Uniformly graded corncob granules and finely ground corncob particles agglomerated into pelleted delivery systems are discussed.

These unique products, available in attractive commercial quantities, are described in terms of their chemical and physical constituents as well as the role they play today in agricultural chemicals. Stability data are also discussed.

Methods of applying active ingredients without the use of solvents are shown.

Altered (expanded) cob granules are shown in which the soybean oil carrying capacities have been increased from the traditional 15% to the now possible 25 to 30% loadings.

Pelleted pesticide carriers using finely ground corncob powders are shown to be safe, accurate methods of delivering active ingredients to targeted pest species.
