Metrication is being progressively introduced at Vauxhall Motors Limited generally in line with the recommendations of the Metrication Board set up by the British Government, and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders. A Coordination Committee was given responsibility to consider all aspects and implications of the change, to determine the approach to be taken, and to allocate priorities.
Application to all new products became effective with the commencement of the 1972 model year, and non-product changes are programmed annually in accordance with internal needs and external progress.
