Abstract

The Comité International des Poids et Mesures (CIPM) at its meeting in October 1968 agreed to adopt the International Practical Temperature cale of 1968 (IPTS-68) in accordance with the decision of the 13e Conférence Générale des Poids et Mesures, Resolution 8, of October 1967. This resolution gave the CIPM permission to introduce a new Scale to replacethe existing IPTS-48 as soon as the Comité Consultatif de Thermométrie (CCT) made its recommendations.
