Abstract

The effect of grout on compressive strength of hollow brick prisms was investigated experimentally and analytically. Grout was found to benefit compressive strength in the great majority of cases. Factors that improved prism compressive strength were high strength grout, high strength mortar, high tensile strength brick, and low brick coring percentage.
