Abstract

This paper presents data which show that galvanized rebar is superior to untreated steel. Through extensive testing and laboratory experimentation, this paper provides data to resolve the question of whether or not there is an improvement in galvanized rebar's corrosion resistance over unprotected steel. Tests were performed on bridge structures ranging in age from 3 to 23 years.
