Abstract
This paper presents the application of a sensor-based digital computer for data acquisition and control in the study of the generalized Prot accelerated fatigue model. The usefulness of this model is greatly enhanced by the existence of modern-day facilities such as the closed-loop electrohydraulic fatigue testing system and the sensor-based computer for data acquisition and control. A brief overview of the entire laboratory automation system and a particular emphasis on the fatigue testing system are presented.
