Abstract

The dislocation model is extended to include nonlinear hardening of the cracktip fields. The resulting model is applied to the loaded and unloaded crack. Several factors affecting the cyclic J-integral are discussed, including mean stress, Baushinger effects, and the applied far-field strain energy density.
