View License Agreement Source: STP1117-EB Abstract Heavy metal fluoride (HMF) glasses are of considerable interest for use as multispectral optical components. HMF glass samples of different compositions were prepared and subjected to different doses of gamma radiation at room temperature. Optical absorption measurements showed that strong damage occurred in the UV and visible regions and no significant losses were detected in the infrared region.
