Abstract

This paper will discuss the difference between performance criteria and design criteria, how performance criteria can affect selection of material and support system, and how each different material and support system may have different design criteria which must be addressed.

This paper will present an overview of the subject keyed into specific project experiences and is intended to serve as a reminder of topics to be addressed by designer in material and system selection and construction document preparation.
