Since its organization in 1973, ASTM Committee E-35 on Pesticides and its 200 to 350 members in 8 to 11 technical subcommittees have produced 64 standards and are drafting many more. Thirty-eight of these standards are test methods, many of which deal with pesticide efficacy. Committee E-35 membership in March 1986 included 143 voters and 67 non-voters. Sixty-six of the voters were producers. In August 1986 there were 221 members: 139 from industry, 21 from U.S. government agencies, 3 from state governments, 16 from universities, and 34 from laboratories and consultants. Subcommittee E35.22 has produced ten standards on pesticide formulation and application and is drafting more. Several successful symposia have been held and more are planned.
