    To understand micromechanisms of steam turbine blade failures, a variety of fracture morphology was generated in 13Cr-Mo-V steel by controlled laboratory tests. The primary variables were microstructural condition and environment. Micromechanisms operative during fracture under impact and fatigue loading have been presented and discussed.
