ASTM Specifications and Test Methods for Polymer-Modified Mortar and Concrete — A Status Report

Source

Mortar and concrete test methods currently being used with polymer modifiers (latexes and redispersible powders used with hydraulic cements) are generally standard ASTM procedures with minor variations to accommodate the properties unique to these materials. These variations typically relate to such items as proportioning, mixing sequence, and curing. Subcommittee C09.03.19 is currently preparing documents that will address the changes needed in the appropriate existing Standards and Practices. Also under development by the Subcommittee is a new direct tension test method for measuring adhesion of concrete and mortar to concrete, and a specification for polymer modifiers that defines the products and provides criteria for the properties of mortar and concrete made with them.
