Off Target Pesticide Losses Resulting from the Use of an Air-assisted Orchard Sprayer

Source

This report details the off-target spray losses resulting from the application of five insecticide sprays to an orchard using a Good Boy ®air assisted sprayer. Off-target deposition on the ground was assessed using a number of flat plate collectors placed at distances up to 200 m downwind of the orchard. Time integrated airborne spray flux was measured using Rotorods® and a novel array of sampling wires. The results are discussed and used to produce regression equations from which realistic worst case deposits are predicted.
