Numerous cases of intoxication through ingestion of contaminated food and feed have been reported, but little is known about the airborne threat of toxigenic fungal spores. Although toxigenic isolates of fungi are found indoors, they are relatively uncommon. Literature reports suggest that mycotoxins may play a role in the symptoms experienced by those occupants of buildings which are heavily contaminated by certain fungal species. | ||
