Abstract

The NADCAP program utilizes third party assessments and surveys of contractor suppliers. The paper describes how nongovernment standards are used in developing actual operating criteria and procedures. Laboratory accreditation criteria from ASTM technical committees are utilized in developing working criteria for nondestructive testing (NDT), sealants, and other process and product areas. This program is an excellent example of using voluntary standards for effective surveillance in commerce.
