Abstract

Based on case study material, two different analyses of thermal movement on a panelized polymer-based exterior insulation and finish system (PB EIFS) cladding are presented. The first analysis employs mathematical calculations. The second analysis involves linear thermal expansion measurements obtained by laboratory procedure. The data derived from each analysis are used to determine minimum joint width. Recommendations for sealant joint design on panelized PB EIFS are provided.
