Abstract

An integrated fatigue life prediction methodology is presented using multi-body dynamic simulation, finite element analysis, and fatigue life prediction methods. This methodology was applied for predicting the finite life of an automotive suspension component. Experimental verification of the predicted life is described. The results indicate this integrated fatigue life prediction methodology can be used as a reliable tool to reduce expense and time of design iteration.
