Abstract

Results on single pulse laser damage to several reflective and anti-reflective coatings designed for use at 10.6 μm are reported. Samples from two different manufacturers were studied. Nomarski microscopy and TV vidicon detection were used for the characterization of the samples before and after damage. Suggestions about the future use of an improved TV system for the detection of scattering centers in the visible are made.
