Proposition 65, Today and the Future

Proposition 65 was passed by the California voters in November of 1986. The proposition requires the governor to publish a list of chemicals “known to the state to cause cancer or reproductive toxicity.” The trigger date for the discharge prohibitions was October 27, 1988 for the first 29 listed chemicals.
