Abstract

Under the mandate of FIFRA '88, the EPA was to promulgate regulations to “facilitate the safe use of containers…”. The task placed before the Agency was to determine whether and to what extent quantification of the discontinuous flow of liquid from a container orifice (glugglng) was possible. The use of a test fixture — data acquisition — computer link-up was determined to be an effective method that correlates with observed glugging.
