    Abstract

    Under pressure of regulation and environment, the agrochemical companies have to develop new active ingredients and safer formulations for users and the environment.

    Today the development of new surfactants based on natural and renewable raw materials contributes to a better regard for the environment and user safty.

    SUCROGLYCERIDES are nonionic surfactants which result from the transesterification of natural triglycerides by saccharose (sucrose). They are blends of sugar esters and glycerides. These products are not toxic (LD50 >30000 mg/kg) and are highly biodegradable.

    They can be used as dispersing and stabilizing agents or emulsifiers primarily in water based formulations. They can also be used to enhance the biological efficacy of active ingredients under certain conditions.
