Abstract

The features of a new indirect tension test apparatus is introduced. Analytical models to reduce the test data and to calculate the structural properties of asphalt mixes are presented and discussed. A summary of the findings along with the resulting statistical equations are also presented. It is shown that the structural properties of asphalt mixes obtained from the indirect tension test using the new apparatus are consistent and the test data are reproducible.
