Abstract

The recent adoption of flexural tensile bond as a criterion for acceptance of materials in building construction by the Uniform Building Code has directed considerable attention to the ASTM C 1072 - 86 Standard Method for Measurement of Masonry Flexural Bond Strength and the bond wrench testing apparatus. Described is an experimental evaluation of the Bond Wrench Testing Apparatus and testing procedures. During the investigation a device for calibration of the bond wrench was developed and evaluated.
