View License Agreement Geotextiles have grown substantially, both in number and in application, during the past ten years. The mechanical properties of a specific region along a geotextile roll length are largely dependent upon mass and dimensional characteristics corresponding to that region. Geosynthetic manufacturers and testing laboratories have adopted various sampling procedures and data manipulation schemes in an effort to minimize the effect of product variability on mechanical property test results. Alternative test methods have been employed that demonstrate a high degree of repeatability. This paper reviews the various approaches to the problem of dimensional variability and discusses their rationale. | ||
