View License Agreement The joint efforts of ASM INTERNATIONAL (ASM) and the National Bureau of Standards to form the ASM/NBS Data Program for Alloy Phase Diagrams are traced back to a 1975 report prepared by an ad hoc committee of the Numerical Data Advisory Board of the National Academy of Sciences/National Research Council. The Committee's recommendations for a program to collect, evaluate, and disseminate all existing alloy phase diagram data are presented. This paper discusses the progress related to the recommendations of the committee, particularly regarding the computerization of alloy phase diagram data. The management aspects of data base development are discussed as well as the various alternative delivery systems that have been explored. The current status of each of the data bases is presented, including the search capability, degree of completion, and plans for maintaining currency. | ||
