View License Agreement A verification procedure carried out for a particular guarded hot box facility is described. This relied on measurement of a uniform test specimen of known well-defined properties, these properties having been measured on an accredited guarded hot plate. An analysis of the various energy flows in the box is given, together with procedures for application of various correction measures required. These included a common zeroing of any out-of-balance flux through the metering box walls with that in the specimen across the metering box periphery. The effects of specimen mean temperature were included, and specimen thermal conductances and metering box thermal properties were determined using a linear regression approach. Resulting conductances were in good agreement with those obtained from the hot plate measurements. | ||
